Derby Cross is the exciting new sport combining the accuracy and agility of show jumping with the speed and boldness of cross country jumping. Last year the Myopia Horse Show offered its very first Derby Cross classes. Teams of three in matching attire raced around the challenging course set to their own theme music. Derby Cross was so popular among the competitors and was such a crowd pleaser, that Myopia has decided to make it our show’s signature event. This year we are pleased to offer a $6,500 purse! With Derby Cross Advisor Ashley MacVaugh on board, we look forward to fierce competition among our area’s Olympic Level Eventers and Show Jumpers. To add to the excitement, a Calcutta will be held at the Opening Cocktail Party, Sat. Aug. 31th under the Patrons’ Tent.

The following two classes will be held on Monday, Sept. 1st after lunch:

1. $5,000 Gold Star: Open Preliminary Division. Fences at 3’6”.
2. $1,500 Derby Capital Silver Star: Amateur Training Divison. Fences at 3’3”.

1. Bronze Star: Novice Division. Fences at 2’11”, Optimum time to be announced.
2. Brass Star: Beginner Novice Division. Fences at 2’6”, Optimum time to be announced
